Former Chairman PBNU Hasyim Muzadi said the conflict in Papua have to be resolved. If not, Hashim worried that conflict would lead to a referendum in Papua.
Therefore, according to him, way to go is with the involvement of mass organizations and political organizations to contribute to reducing conflict in Papua.
"I'm afraid in the near future this will Papuan independence if the conflict is not resolved soon. The only way, we have saved through the Papuan civil society," said Hashim Muzadi in Building PP Muhammadiyah, Menteng, Jakarta, Monday (19/12/2011) .
Hashim explained that the purpose of involving civil society does not mean that no longer involves a team that had formed the government, but the team must also be supported by the strength of the community.
"The team is still the road, but the participation of civil society must be upheld. Starting mass organizations and political parties of legislative and judicial branches of government then why not gather. Why not call the president of the Assembly later determined that this country should not be released," he explained.
Therefore, the government should seriously deal with this so as not to regret in the future. Muzadi said, not to break away from the conflict in Papua is not finished.
"Because this is critical, while another referendum, and if it has been recognized more than 100 countries will sudden Indonesia what? Lived confusion," he said.
